ROME (Reuters) - Italian police said on Monday they had arrested three men and charged them with counterfeiting hundreds of thousands of dollars in fake Iraqi money.
The leaders of the counterfeiting ring were arrested in Rome on Sunday and some $600,000 worth of Iraqi dinars had been confiscated.
They said the three men, two Italians and one German, had made numerous trips between Italy and the Middle East recently.
Police said they were still trying to determine what the men were intending to do with the money.
